Abstract

Real-time system identification for electric machinery is an active research topic. Diagnostic oradaptive control tasks could demand the knowledge of the energy conversion system parametersand, possibly, load mechanical torque as well. In this paper, an on-line identification scheme isproposed for estimation of all parameters and load torque for an efficiently controlled DC shuntmotor. The parameters of the nonlinear electromechanical system and load torque are estimatedalgebraically and quickly. A PI control law is also described for regulation and tracking taskson this nonlinear energy conversion system. Some numerical simulation results are provided toshow the effective closed-loop estimation of all system parameters and mechanical torque.
