Abstract

Complex three- dimensional (3D) meso-scale fracture modelling technique of quasi-brittle multiphase concrete based on realistic X-ray computed tomography (XCT) images and cohesive crack model is developed and compared with observations from in situ XCT test. The similarity of simulated loading curve and crack pattern with in situ images shows the flexibility and effectiveness of the proposed modelling technique. The crack propagation of uniaxial compression and tension tests are also simulated.
